Busy, Busy, Busy

Taylor is busy, busy, busy and I'm busy, busy, busy trying to keep up with her in this house full of stairs and my giant ankle boot.  She's not walking yet, but has perfected the fast crawl especially when she knows I'm coming after her.  It's really pretty funny!  So this week we've been trying to get out of the house more.  We had Music class, dinner at the Ickes, Ruggles lunch and shopping, the zoo and a playdate at the Children's Museum with Lexi.  We really had so much fun together.

Excited for Music class and to see Daddy finally!

Driving the truck at the Children's museum.  Once Taylor got in the truck all of the other kids (who were twice her age) wanted in the truck too so she stood up and took charge.  She was not about to let them upstage her.

Fall Is Here

Fall is here but it sure doesn't feel like it in Houston.  Although we hit the pumpkin patch this weekend, Taylor was not a huge fan of the pumpkins (or the grass) so we didn't get any really good pictures.  She wouldn't even let her Sophie the Giraffe get near the pumpkins.  We will try again!  And as a follow-up to the last post, Taylor is going to be a lamb for Halloween.

Lunch at Ruggles Green - Yum!

I love Family Fun Days!

Taylor's not too happy about this!

Little Lamb or Pretty Puppy?

I'm having a hard time deciding on Taylor's Halloween costume, so I thought I would open it up for a vote.  Should she be a little lamb or a pretty puppy?  I definitely think she needs a little black nose.  I can hardly wait.

You can post your choice below!  Comments and other suggestions welcome.

She's Crawling!!!

And I've got the video to prove it.  Guess I need to look into baby gates!

And I just had to include this video of Chloe and Taylor playing.  This is what they do every day.

Florida - Part II

It's so sad to be home.  We got used to our beach/pool routine last week and, especially, having Ryan around.

During the trip, Taylor made some significant progress on her swimming skills.  She now "jumps" off the side of the pool (See video) and can go underwater back and forth between Ryan and I.  No fear here!

Lunch at George's - our favorite spot in FL.  Burger and grouper tacos - yum!

So happy to be here!
Last day at the beach.  We had a great time!

Florida - Part I

We made it!  And we love it here.  Taylor was a great traveler on the 10+hour drive.  We hit a great lunch spot on the way in Gulfport called Blow Fly Inn (written up in Southern Living's best seafood dives and featured on Food Network's Dine-ins, Drive-ins and Dives).  Great fried green tomatoes and crab cakes!  Now that we are in Alys Beach our daily routine goes something like wake-up, walk to get a pastry at the Fonville Press, hit the beach for a swim, morning naptime, lunch and then hit the Caliza Pool in the afternoon.

Blow Fly Inn - Yum-O

Beach Day 1

Taylor had no fear of the ocean.  That girl loves to swim.

Music Class

Music class with Taylor is hilarious.  Ryan and I believe she is a quite more extroverted than her parents.  She is constantly banging the drum or shaking her music maker to get the attention of the other kids in the class.  She's even stolen a few instruments directly from her neighbors little hands (It's a shame they didn't even notice.).  However, in four weeks she has mastered the shaker and the drum and already recognizes her favorite songs.  I think I even heard her try to sing a few notes in the last class.

Tulsa Trip

I'm finally posting pictures from Taylor's first trip to Tulsa.  Grammy had a Sip and See to meet all of the Tulsa crew.  And Taylor had so much fun swimming in everyone's pools.

Daddy finally made it to Tulsa for a swim day!

Taylor loved swimming with Sandy (Clive and Sharron's yellow lab) and would laugh out loud when she would "shake" the water off.
