Happy 3rd Birthday, Taylor!

Celebrating with cupcakes on her actual birthday
Opening gifts...her favorites were the singing, princess cards
Happy because she thinks the party is for her!
Dressed and ready for her princess party...too bad it rained so we couldn't play
on the new play set but we were able to decorate crowns and eat cake
under the porch and carport
Posing in the "castle" for a picture
The "Princess Taylor" cake - white on white
Blowing out her candles
Celebrating with friends
We love you T (I mean Snow White)!
The face painter was awesome!
Such sweet friends.

Christmas Fun!

V&E, a law firm in Houston, hosted a gingerbread decorating
event at the Houstonian.  The hotel was all decorated for Christmas
and they had a photographer capturing family pictures.
Taylor was a little nervous and Caroline does not like Santa.
In fact, Caroline starts to pout the second she sees him!
A high five for Santa.  Taylor keeps asking him for a suitcase.
Wherever she's planning to go, I hope I get to go too!  :)
Decorating the gingerbread house with lots of candy!
Baby sister is kept out of reach of this process.
Candy happy.
They also had a breakfast buffet.  The girls were thrilled
because they LOVE breakfast.
She just knows it's good and has no idea that the wrapper is still on.

Decorating her pink tree for her bedroom.
Ernie the Elf arrived on December 1st in style.
Sweet sisters!

Off to another party at the Children's Museum.
Taylor and her friend from school.
Look at those long legs!
This picture cracks me up.  Caroline is in the driver seat and
the older kids are her passengers.
Party animal.
Face painting of Rudolph!  We are going to have the same
lady come for Taylor's birthday party.
Partied out leaving the museum.

Another meeting with Santa at a friend's birthday party.
:)
"Santa is o.k. as long as I'm going to get a suitcase."

Master Bedroom Accomplished

A year and a half later, we have finally tackled and completed our master bedroom update.  Out with the dark greens and toile and in with light blue and green linen safari print.  I did all of the decorating myself (not the actual sewing, but the searching out of the items) which explains the long anticipation.  Thanks to everyone for their input and advice along the way!  Whew.

First Steps Fall Festival

The Fall Festival is such a nice event put on by Taylor's school.  Last year I missed it because Caroline was only a few days old, so I was excited to go this year.  The girls had so much fun on the rides and Caroline thought she was a two-year old and fit right in.  Caroline literally was running towards the camel and ponies with open arms and couldn't wait to ride them.  Taylor's favorites were the more subtle swing ride and carousel.

Dressed up in my old costume
Caroline wants to be a kitty too!
And the tail has a bell!

Running to the camel for a ride
Happy to be riding a pony
Interesting face painting
Scary camel ride - never again!
Seemed like a good idea - except for riding on the hump and not having anything to hold onto

Thinks she's a big kid now
